CSS3 Columns

Part of: CSS3 Goodies

Versions

Pro Only

Description

Make multi-column text without any extra elements. Apply this Action to a text box, set the number of columns or the desired column width, the space and divider properties, and see multi-column text in your modern browser. As with all CSS3 goodies, browsers that don’t support these properties will silently ignore them.

One thing to watch out for: if you apply this Action to a text box that has a fixed height and overset text, the extra text will run out of the box to the right, adding multiple columns as it goes. This is because the multi-column layout respects whatever height you may have set for the element it’s applied to, and will prefer that height over the number of columns you may have chosen.
